The development of technologies today makes it possible to maximally facilitate the physical labor of workers through the introduction of automated production mechanisms, but, unfortunately, it is impossible to influence the external weather conditions. Therefore, the only way to protect yourself from the effects of adverse weather factors is to wear overalls, as well as personal protective equipment.

In our review, we will tell you about the rules for choosing beautiful, stylish and fashionable, but at the same time practical work clothes for men.

Features and purpose

Overalls are considered an integral part of the competent organization of labor in production, it plays a colossal role in the performance of workers' labor functions.

The special clothing should be designed and sewn in such a way as to provide the working person with maximum protection from adverse weather factors, as well as mechanical, chemical, physical and biological influences.

When choosing workwear, the heads of firms rely on the current standards of the Russian Federation, as well as technical regulations valid on the territory of all countries of the Customs Union. They establish the basic requirements for any workwear. In accordance with them, overalls for men should:

  • have strength;
  • be resistant to mechanical stress;
  • protect from high and low temperatures, wind, snow, rain and other adverse weather factors;
  • help maintain a comfortable indoor microclimate;
  • prevent the ingress of dust particles and dirt on human skin, mucous membranes and organs of vision;
  • protect from dangerous ultraviolet radiation, as well as radiation;
  • be free, do not constrain movements, do not create muscle tension.

    Depending on the characteristics of the production processes, the clothes of men of different specialties may differ.

    So, clothing for builders includes a jacket, overalls, and heavy-duty shoes. A bricklayer's workwear kit should include a helmet for the head and practical high-toed boots, while the sole of such a specialist's shoes should have poor adhesion to cement or concrete mortars.

    The head of the painter is traditionally covered with a kerchief and a light hat; thick gloves are used to protect the hands. The painter's protective clothing should include a respirator.

    A set of clothes for an electrician must include shoe covers and gloves made of dielectric materials.

    Carpenters, due to their functional features, have to carry a lot of tools with them, so their workwear includes vests equipped with a large number of pockets of different sizes.

    Types of men's workwear

    Warm

    Insulated overalls for men are required for all workers who are employed in the machine-building, oil-producing, mining industries, as well as at construction sites. Thanks to such clothes, the continuity of the technological process is ensured, since the weather conditions do not significantly affect it - the workers are protected from the effects of low temperatures. Winter clothing must meet the following requirements:

    • be warm;
    • maintain a favorable microclimate, protecting its owner from low temperatures, wind, snow and high humidity;
    • be comfortable and do not hinder the movement of a person.

      Winter overalls should be quickly put on and have sturdy fittings. If, in the course of performing his professional duties, an employee encounters hazardous substances, then the clothing, among other things, must have gas-tight characteristics and repel some types of aggressive solutions.

      For sewing winter workwear for men, blended or synthetic fabrics with water-repellent impregnation are used, this allows you not to feel the cold even at the lowest temperatures - thereby maintaining a high level of labor productivity.

      Demi-season

      This protective clothing is designed to be worn in autumn and spring. Accordingly, the main requirements for it are increased resistance to moisture and wind loads. If desired, clothes are additionally equipped with reflective stripes, as well as deep pockets for storing tools necessary for work.

      These garments are usually made from thick raincoat fabrics and synthetic materials such as bologna, twill, greta or orthon, all of which are waterproof.

      The lining is made of viscose or polyester, this is how demi-season clothing differs from winter options, where a special insulation is provided.

      Choosing the right demi-season windbreaker is very important for men who work outdoors. Such overalls protect a person from cold, heat, dust and wind, it can always be used in the summer in cases when labor processes are associated with work in basements and wet rooms.

      Summer

      Summer is a season of heat and high temperatures, which is why you should pay maximum attention to the chemical properties of the materials from which it is made. For sewing the uniform, you can use exclusively natural or mixed materials that allow you to absorb moisture and remove it outside, and also provide the body with sufficient air permeability.

      At the same time, summer overalls should not be too thin; it is also not recommended to wear shorts, since in this case the safety of the working person will be at risk. Equally, such qualities as density and air permeability are possessed by cotton, greta, and moleskin - these materials are most often used for sewing protective clothing for the summer.

      Some specialties require increased safety measures, for them a summer uniform is produced, impregnated with special solutionsthat increase the protective properties of the material and the wear resistance of clothing. After impregnation, the fabric becomes oil-resistant.

      It is noteworthy that the impregnation does not evaporate even after repeated washings.

      Waterproof

      When working in high humidity conditions, the main purpose of the workwear is to protect workers from the action of water. At the same time, it guarantees effective protection against dirt and wind. Usually, nylon and PVC fabric are used as waterproof sheets - both types of fabrics do not get wet and dry quickly. The second option is cheaper, but in quality it is somewhat inferior to nylon models - nylon is more durable and at the same time light, and the operational period of such products is longer.

      At the same time, both PVC fabrics do not get wet and dry quickly.

      Dimensions (edit)

      The sizes of overalls for men in our country are approved at the legislative level and are subject to GOST R52774-2007. This greatly simplifies the choice of suitable uniforms - in the established standards, as well as in local acts, the classification of all types of figures with averaged parameters for different weight categories and sizes is clearly spelled out.

      What to consider when choosing?

      Overalls differ in their purpose. Some species protect a person from the effects of chemical and physical factors, while others are characterized by a signaling function that makes a man well visible in the dark or at a great distance. Depending on the features of use, clothing may include overalls, semi-overalls and a jacket, a separate jacket with trousers, as well as all kinds of aprons, dressing gowns and vests.

      Any set of workwear must be complemented by a protective mask and safety shoes.

      When choosing overalls, first of all, you need to pay attention to the material from which it is made. It is important to use fabrics with a specific set of functions depending on the production conditions; they must be resistant to mechanical friction, high temperatures, aggressive acid-base solutions. Some garments are made of heat-resistant waterproof fabric or anti-static fabrics. The fabric must be durable and resistant to deformation after washing.

      It is important to choose the right size, strictly in accordance with the complexion of the employee - having put on a suit, the employee should feel maximum comfort, he should be able to bend over, sit down, and spread his limbs apart.

      In addition, some stock should be taken into account - he will not put on clothes on a naked body, but on a T-shirt, shirt or even a sweater in the cold season.

      The assortment of workwear presented in stores boasts a fairly wide color palette. As a rule, the choice of shade depends on the area of use. For example, for engineering and technical workers, clothing is usually black and green, in the service sector, blue and white shades prevail, military uniforms are produced in khaki.

      Workwear trims are usually made of orange reflective fabric.
