If a man loves to cook, it is worth giving him a nice apron. This accessory will protect your clothes and make you feel like a real chef. In addition to kitchen options, aprons, depending on the fabric used, can be used as additional protection in production or in a home workshop.

Peculiarities

Aprons are used to protect clothing, for example, when working with welding machines, in hot production (foundries).

Plenty of pockets on aprons are encouraged, but not always necessary. Such male models are used mainly in carpentry workshops so that the necessary tools are always at hand.

Another plus of using an apron is the ability to carry out some types of work without overalls.

Varieties

Kitchen textiles are essential to protect clothing from oil splashes, stains, and simply to create a cozy and homely atmosphere.

Aprons made of dense fabrics and leather provide protection against sparks and hot splashes when working with metal or welding.

Materials (edit)

Ordinary kitchen aprons are sewn from Teflon-impregnated fabric. They do not get wet, perfectly protect clothes from hot splashes and stains, and withstand numerous washes.

Models made of chintz, satin and linen are beautiful, comfortable, but impractical. Stains from fat and sauces cannot be removed. In addition, after several washes, the item loses its attractive appearance.

Jeans aprons are an interesting solution. Denim perfectly withstands repeated washings, is quite dense, but at the same time it is perfectly breathable. Another plus - denim aprons look stylish, protect clothes well.

In combination with leather details, they can be used not only in the kitchen, but also in the workshop.

For sewing aprons, manufacturers use various materials: leather, cheaper split, tarpaulin and even natural suede. Each of these materials has its own advantages and disadvantages.

  • Tarpaulin. Blended fabric of cotton (jute) and synthetic fibers. Quite dense. Differs in special technical characteristics. Does not get wet, resistant to hot temperatures, but at the same time "breathes". It is used for the production of workwear and protective gloves for welders, firefighters.

The only but significant drawback is that with prolonged exposure, for example, sparks or scale, it can catch fire during welding.

  • Tarpaulin impregnated with a special compound. In terms of characteristics, it is similar to simple tarpaulin aprons. The only difference is that the impregnation increases fire resistance and protection against hot splashes.
  • Split. It is obtained as a result of stratification of animal skins. It is an affordable material, but at the same time it has good technical characteristics. It is used for the manufacture of clothing and as protection for welders, workers in hot shops. Withstands exposure to high temperatures, warns against sparks, flames.

More pluses are durability, resistance to dirt and durability. Cutting or tearing an apron from a split file is almost impossible.

  • Suede leather. It is mainly used for sewing aprons for welding. Resistant to high temperatures, mechanical damage, retains properties in contact with water. Of the shortcomings, it is quite heavy, it loses its appearance over time.

If such aprons are used during welding, it is necessary to brush off iron scale from the surface from time to time.

  • Leather. This is both a stylish accessory and excellent protection.Perfect for shoemakers, blacksmiths or carpenters.

For the manufacture of aprons, only high-quality genuine leather with a special coating is used, which provides durability, easy maintenance, and presentable appearance of the product.

Leather aprons are a great addition to the uniform of bartenders, waiters in a pub. Thin leather models are successfully used in barbershops and modern cafes. Another use case is uniforms for shops selling meat products. It is easy to care for aprons made of leather, moreover, stains on the surface of the material are almost invisible. If we talk about home use, then a leather apron is useful for barbecuing and barbecuing.

Design and color solutions

If we are talking about a personalized kitchen apron, then it is better to choose simple laconic models in a restrained color scheme. A good option is a medium cell: beautiful and unpleasant. Inscriptions and logos are welcome not only on black - the print looks original on blue.

Pay attention to functionality as well. The straps should be quite wide, it's not bad if the manufacturer has provided pockets.

How to choose?

  1. Sewing quality - no protruding threads and uneven seams. If there is a print, pay attention to the quality of the paint. If the image on the new item is already cracked, then after washing it will most likely just be a dirty stain.
  2. Fixing fittings - must be durable and reliable, especially if these are models made of dense fabrics.
  3. Material quality - Ideally, the composition should contain both natural and artificial fibers. The former are responsible for comfort, the latter for durability.
  4. Comfort - kitchen aprons equipped with a polyethylene insert to protect the fabric, uncomfortable. It is hot in them, moreover, the service life of such models is minimal.
  5. Length - depends on preference. But it's still better for a brutal man to choose long models.

The main signs of a quality item:

  • safety (material and dyes must be harmless to health);
  • wear resistance;
  • the resistance of dyes to numerous washes (the thing should not fade);
  • strength and resistance to mechanical damage when it comes to a work apron.

Any thing should be not only original, but also functional. Therefore, when choosing an apron for a man, pay attention also to the size, material and width of the ties, the presence of pockets (depending on the purpose).
